Admissions

Your path to recovery starts with a single call

Welcoming admissions area at CPMH Rehab

Getting Started

The hardest part of recovery is often the first phone call. We built our admissions process to make that call as easy as possible — one conversation, no judgment, and a clear plan by the time you hang up. Many of the people who reach us are veterans or first responders who have spent years being the one others call for help; asking for it themselves takes courage we never take lightly.

When you reach our North Hollywood team, a coordinator listens to your situation, completes a confidential assessment, and verifies your insurance the same day whenever possible. If CPMH Rehab is the right fit, we coordinate your arrival; if another level of care suits you better, we will tell you honestly and help you find it.

What to Bring

Packing for treatment does not need to be stressful. Here is what we recommend bringing to CPMH Rehab:

  • Valid photo identification and your insurance card
  • A list of current medications, or the medications themselves in their original containers
  • Comfortable, casual clothing for 7 to 10 days, including weather-appropriate layers
  • Athletic shoes and clothing for the fitness center, yoga pavilion, and nature paths
  • Toiletries without alcohol as a listed ingredient
  • A small amount of cash for incidentals
  • Photos of loved ones or other small comfort items

Please leave the following at home: alcohol, drugs or paraphernalia, weapons, and valuables. Cell phone use is permitted during limited hours, and family visits are scheduled on weekends. Please note that CPMH Rehab does not allow pets on the campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment last?

Medical detox runs 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance and severity of physical dependence. Residential treatment ranges from 30 to 90 days. Outpatient care spans 2 to 4 weeks at the PHP level and 8 to 12 weeks at the IOP level. Duration is set by clinical assessment, not a fixed package.

Is detox medically supervised?

Yes. Detoxification at CPMH Rehab is conducted under 24/7 physician and nursing supervision. We provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) where clinically indicated to manage withdrawal symptoms and reduce the medical risks associated with alcohol, opioid, and benzodiazepine withdrawal.

Which substances do you treat?

We treat dependence on alcohol, opioids, fentanyl, prescription opioids, prescription stimulants, MDMA, and barbiturates, among others. Each substance carries a distinct withdrawal profile, and the detox protocol is matched accordingly.

Do you treat co-occurring psychiatric conditions?

Yes. Our dual diagnosis program treats substance use disorders alongside co-occurring conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety in a single integrated plan. Treating both concurrently is the clinical standard for patients presenting with co-occurring disorders, and it is especially relevant for veterans and first responders.

What insurance do you accept?

CPMH Rehab is in network with most major carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, Health Net, MultiPlan, and WellCare, and we accept Medicare and Medicaid. Verification of benefits is completed at admission, typically the same day.

Can my family visit during treatment?

Yes. Family visits are scheduled on weekends in our dedicated family visiting area. Structured family involvement is associated with improved treatment retention, and family systems therapy is available as part of programming.

Can I bring my phone?

Cell phone use is permitted during limited, designated hours. This protects the therapeutic environment and each patient's privacy while still allowing scheduled contact with approved family and support contacts.

Do you have programming for veterans and first responders?

Yes. CPMH Rehab maintains a dedicated track for veterans and first responders, led by clinicians trained in service-related trauma and occupational stress. Peer mentorship pairs patients with others who understand the demands of the field.
